Anyone with a career in the fashion industry today will tell you that it takes hard work to make it. We're holding our annual New York "How to Make It in Fashion" conference on Friday, Nov. 4 to get inside the minds of some of fashion's hardest-working power players, with keynote speakers including esteemed fashion critic Cathy Horyn and Patricia Field, one of the most celebrated costume designers working today.
A native New Yorker, Field got her start in the industry by designing and opening her New York boutique before catapulting into the international spotlight for her Emmy Award-winning costume designs on "Sex and the City." She would go on to work on other on-screen fashion classics like "Ugly Betty" and "The Devil Wears Prada" — for which she earned an Academy Award nomination — and currently designs the costumes for TV Land's "Younger."
If you want to hear Field's advice for making it in fashion; take in panels covering the rise of menswear, how to get a fashion label off the ground and what it means to be an influencer today; and get one-on-one mentoring with someone who's made it in your chosen field — get your tickets today, right here. And do it soon: early birds get $50 off the regular ticket price and our conferences always sell out.
