There are certain milestones in a model's career that are unofficial indicators of his or her level of success: walking a big-name runway show in Paris, booking a blue-chip ad campaign, landing a spot on the Victoria's Secret roster, signing a beauty contract, hitting the one-million follower mark on Instagram, etc. Over the past few years, another trend has emerged among top models, with brands approaching them to create capsule collections of clothing or accessories in order to capitalize on both their social media influence and signature aesthetic. See: Karlie Kloss for Frame, Behati Prinsloo for Juicy Couture, Candice Swanepoel for Mother, Joan Smalls for True Religion, Kendall (and Kylie) Jenner for PacSun and, most recently, Gigi Hadid for Tommy Hilfiger, which will debut in the fall.
Now, another well-loved Instagirl is flexing her design muscle. Hailey Baldwin, the current face of Guess and Tommy Hilfiger who boasts a whopping 6.5 million Instagram followers, has teamed up with Australian label The Daily Edited on a limited range of customizable leather accessories currently available for pre-order. Considering Baldwin's jet-setting lifestyle, it's fitting that the range includes a backpack, a roomy tote and a cosmetics case — all of which can be monogrammed with shoppers' initials or favorite emojis (insert praying hands here). The goods range in price from AUS $89.95 to $329.95 (USD $67.40 to $247.22), and while the designs don't really give us any indication of the 19-year-old's creative vision or point of view, they're classic pieces that her fans can likely use for years to come.
In a short clip to accompany the collaboration, Baldwin talks about her "ride-or-die" pals — think Jenner and Hadid — who help her to navigate the crazy industry, her initial Hollywood aspirations, and her plans for the future... which don't necessarily involve fashion.
