Beauty tutorials are big on YouTube — a search for "makeup tutorial" and "hair tutorial" yields more than five million videos. In this weekly series, we put a mix of popular and under-the-radar tutorials to the test and show you what's best.

There's never really a time when you want your makeup to look chalky or feel heavy (unless you're like, a clown? IDK.). But when it's summer and temperatures are approaching the triple-digits, makeup needs to feel especially weightless. A heat wave is also the time when making your skin look great becomes even more important; when your skin looks glow-y, you can get away without doing much else. That's where this highlighting tutorial comes in.
