Beauty tutorials are big on YouTube — a search for "makeup tutorial" and "hair tutorial" yields more than five million videos. In this weekly series, we put a mix of popular and under-the-radar tutorials to the test and show you what's best.
There's never really a time when you want your makeup to look chalky or feel heavy (unless you're like, a clown? IDK.). But when it's summer and temperatures are approaching the triple-digits, makeup needs to feel especially weightless. A heat wave is also the time when making your skin look great becomes even more important; when your skin looks glow-y, you can get away without doing much else. That's where this highlighting tutorial comes in.
For beauty blogger Teni Panosian, summertime highlighting, strobing — whatever you want to call it — means using cream formulas to achieve a natural, skin-like finish. She uses a variety of different products, but the two key items that are most crucial to the look are a Beautyblender and Glossier's Haloscope highlighter (a product I also happen to be obsessed with, for the record). You can watch her full tutorial for mastering the technique in the video above.
