It's been a busy week for Kim Kardashian — even by Kardashian standards, and even though it's only Tuesday. Just as Monday's deluge of Taylor Swift/Kim Kardashian feud reports wanes, news has broken that Kardashian will be executive producing an upcoming reality competition for beauty bloggers. Yep, more #KardashianKontent will be coming to the reality TV realm soon. Though there aren't many details about the series yet, PopSugar first spotted a Facebook post announcing a casting call:
According to the post, the show's aim will be to find "America's next superstar beauty blogger" and the winner will be awarded "the ultimate job as Beauty Director for Kardashian Apps." It's also required that those applying have established followings on social media.
It's still unclear whether Kardashian or any of her beauty-obsessed siblings (ahem, Kylie) will appear on-screen as judges or hosts of the show, but the posting does say that the show is being produced for a "major cable television network" (Bravo!? E!?) by the team behind "The Real Housewives of New York." We're eagerly awaiting more news about what this show will entail, but in the mean time we'll be over here, fantasizing about the possibility of a Kanye-as-guest-judge scenario.
UPDATE, May 3, 2017: Lifetime announced Wednesday that it has greenlit Kim Kardashian West's upcoming reality competition show, which will be called "Glam Masters" and executive produced by Kardashian West herself.
"We are so excited to bring Kim's trend-setting vision of style and beauty to television’s newest competition series. The stakes couldn't be higher with the chance to work with one of the most successful entrepreneurs and brands on the planet," said Liz Gateley, EVP and head of Lifetime programming, in a statement.
Beauty bloggers can apply now to compete to "be part of" her "glam empire," per a release, which sounds vague but promising. Each episode pits four different bloggers against each other, and the winners of each round will go on to the semi-finals; the semi-finalists will then be narrowed down to three, who will go on to the "Tournament of Masters" finale, where there will be only one winner named.
UPDATE, Dec. 5, 2017, 1:18 p.m.: On Tuesday, Kardashian West shared the trailer for the show, which will be called "Glam Masters" and will premiere on Lifetime on Feb. 28, 2018 at 10 p.m. ET:
The promo, which shows models being dabbed, doused and dusted in a variety of bold makeup pigments, also shares a list of big names who will be involved in the show: Laverne Cox, Mario Dedivanovic, Kandee Johnson and Zanna Roberts Rassi.
