When Leandra Medine launched The Man Repeller in April 2010, the fashion blogosphere was already considered "crowded" — too crowded, seemingly, for a 21-year-old journalism student to break in.
But break in she did, and today, at 27, Medine is a powerful voice in fashion, admired for her adventurous style, quick wit and frank analysis. She has assembled a talented editorial team at The Man Repeller, where fashion, beauty and culture are covered with thoughtfulness and humor, and whose efforts are supported by a robust advertising and collaborations business.
On July 25, you'll have the chance to hear Medine speak about her career firsthand, as well as her advice for anyone hoping to follow in her footsteps. Those in attendance can participate in a 30- to 45-minute Q&A with Medine and Fashionista Senior Editor Chantal Fernandez, and network with Fashionista editors and fellow event-goers. There will be food and drinks (if you're over 21).
The talk will take place at Space 530 in Manhattan on Monday, July 25, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m (Leandra takes the stage at 6:30 sharp). Tickets are $25 (to cover the cost of catering), and can be purchased here. There are only 50 seats available, so act fast!
Can't make July 25? We're also hosting Jeriana San Juan — the former "Gossip Girl" assistant costume designer who's now behind Bahz Luhrmann's upcoming Netflix series, "The Get Down" — on August 16. You can reserve tickets for that here.
