Juicy Couture Makes It to Actual Couture Week Thanks to Vetements

And it was perfect.

On Sunday in Paris, while Americans have been gearing up to celebrate July 4th, Demna Gvasalia celebrated some of our country's most prized apparel brands, including one Juicy Couture, on the runway.

Invited to show for the first time at Paris Couture Week, Vetements debuted a 55-look spring 2017 collection that included collaborations with no less than 18 brands, including several from whom he had taken "inspiration" in past collections, like Levi's and Champion.

But the collaboration that had our jaws dropping as we watched the show — held at the Parisian department store Galeries Lafayette — unfold on social media was that with Juicy Couture, a brand that has undeniably fallen from relevance since its early-aughts ubiquity. We weren't sure what to expect when we heard Gvasalia would be working with the brand still known for its Paris Hilton-beloved velour track suits (despite efforts to go more high-fashion); but the result, best captured in slow motion by Miroslava Duma in the Instagram above, is kind of perfect if you ask us. VPL and all.

Other collaborators included Alpha Industries, Brioni, Canada Goose, Carhartt, Champion, Church's, Comme des Garcons, Dr. Marten's, Eastpak, Hanes, Lucchese, Mackintosh, Manolo Blahnik, Reebok and Schott. Browse the results in the gallery below.
