It's officially fall — in the pages of our favorite magazines, that is. The highly anticipated September issues are out on newsstands and we've been watching closely as the fashion glossies rolled out their buzziest covers, flashiest editorials and most Insta-ready casts of celebrities and models. There were some pervasive trends — a strong showing from the Hadids and Jenners, Balenciaga puffer jackets, menswear-inspired editorials — but our favorite shoots, interviews, casts and styling stood out from the pack. (As did the snooziest, least original features.)

Read on for our breakdown of the 2016 September issues, in superlatives.
