Band of Outsiders Confirms Comeback, Will Show At New York Fashion Week
It's been more than a year since Band of Outsiders ceased all operations after nearly a decade in the fashion business. But at the end of 2015, CLCC SA, the Belgian holding company to whom Band of Outsiders was unable to pay its $2.5 million credit line, confirmed that the Los Angeles-based fashion brand would make its return to retail in time for spring 2017 — without its founder Scott Sternberg, who had cut all ties with the label.
And as of Tuesday, the comeback is in full swing as the label has chosen an official time slot on the New York Fashion Week calendar for a runway show. According to the reports from last year, CLCC SA already has a design team at work that will continue to stay true to the brand's cool, west coast aesthetic. The anticipated event is slated for the evening of Saturday Sept. 10 at Skylight Clarkson Square, an official venue for NYFW. Band of Outsiders will present a spring 2017 collection for men and women, consisting of "contemporary apparel and accessories, which will be targeted to high-end retailers such as Barneys New York," reports WWD.
Upon closer inspection of the Fashion Week calendar, there are no conflicting presentations alongside the Band of Outsiders time slot. Unless, of course, Kanye West decides to throw his Yeezy Season 4 show around the same time. In the meantime, we'll be waiting for the revival of the brand's still-defunct Instagram account.
