Throughout literally all of my makeup-wearing existence thus far, there have been two products that I've never really worn. The first is mascara (another story for another day), and the second is blush. As a teen, I struggled with acne and redness, so the last thing I was interested in was adding more of a flush to my cheeks. And even after my skin cleared up, I still wasn't really into it. I felt like no matter how lightly I wielded my brush, I'd end up looking like a rosy-cheeked porcelain doll. Not really my thing.

But then I discovered this ivory-peach blush from Marc Jacobs Beauty and everything changed. After swatching it on my hand, I immediately fell in love with the velvety (yet weightless) texture that blends seamlessly into skin rather than just sitting on top of it. I was also lucky to have the brand's global makeup artist, Gilbert Soliz, walk me through exactly how to apply it. Using a fluffy, angled blush brush, Soliz suggests dusting the powder just beneath the cheekbones to add a "dance-floor-inspired" flush that actually looks natural. And the runway dress-inspired striped pattern on the pressed powder isn't just for show: Soliz uses the lighter, ivory shade along the high points of the face, then blends the two together for the perfect amount of radiance.

I get it, guys. I finally get it.
