After blasting onto the scene-slash-screen in 2012 courtesy of HBO's Girls, Zosia Mamet was welcomed into the fashion community's embrace immediately. As similarly full-eyebrow-ed starlets have been known to do, Mamet started landing design collaborations and campaigns — including Kate Spade, Honor and Brooklyn-based jewelry brand Talon — with increasing frequency. But several years ago, Mamet found her industry soulmate in New Zealand native Rebecca Taylor, who told Fashionista after her fall 2014 show that Mamet was the perfect "Rebecca Taylor woman." (Taylor actually said: "Zosia's hilarious and funny, smart and such a talented actress.") And so, a years-long partnership between the two was born.
As the archetypal "Rebecca Taylor woman," Mamet is often in attendance at Taylor's events — most recently, at her eponymous brand's launch dinner for its La Vie Rebecca Taylor collection with Shopbop.com on Wednesday. Mamet should get commission on these things, because her outfit had the entire Fashionista team applauding — i.e., sending out a bunch of hand-clap emojis in Slack — for a few reasons. The first being that it was entirely weather-appropriate, which, theoretically, is not something we award brownie points for, but you'd be surprised. It was 83 degrees in New York City yesterday, and Mamet dressed accordingly in a semi-sheer, tied-up blouse and triangle bralette that resembled a bikini top. But the pair of dark, high-waisted jeans (from Taylor's aforementioned Shopbop partnership) had us speculating that Mamet is ready for fall — and, let's be honest, same.
If that's not enough, her makeup was stellar (is this shade of strawberry blonde a recent change?) and left us frantically Googling where we can find that exact lipstick. Any tips on that, folks? Drop 'em in the comment section.
