Have you ever looked at an article of clothing and thought, "Where the [expletive] have you been all my life?" This happens to me more than I'd care to admit, but since Alessandro Michele revamped Gucci last year, I've been experiencing that FOMO with increasing frequency. I know I don't need to go into too many details here — we at Fashionista bring up Michele's Guccaissance every chance we get — though know that his clothing has caused me as much pain (from being unable to afford it) as it has pleasure.
The latest subject of my affection has been this pair of appliquéd jeans, which retail for a casual $2,390. To break that down for you, that equates to roughly 47.8 pairs of Levis 501s — so, no, I'm definitely not buying them anytime soon. But with a versatile light wash and colorful embroidery, they're likely to be an item I'll be lusting over for the foreseeable future (or until Gucci's next runway show, when a whole new season of goodies will be introduced).
In the meantime, I could launch a Kickstarter?
Gucci Appliquéd Mid-Rise Flared Jeans, $2,390, available at Net-a-Porter.
