Kylie Jenner is using her massive #influencer powers for good: The newest Lip Kit offering from her beauty company, Kylie Cosmetics, will benefit a worthy cause. In honor of World Smile Day, proceeds from the sales of her latest shade, Smile, will benefit Smile Train, an organization that helps children in need of cleft surgery in developing countries. Jenner announced the news on Thursday in a series of tweets:
A bit more about the organization, according to its own website: "Smile Train is an international children's charity that provides 100 percent-free cleft repair surgery and comprehensive cleft care to children in 85+ developing countries. Our sustainable model empowers local doctors to provide cleft care in their own communities."
It's a pretty significant philanthropic step Jenner's company is taking, given that 100 percent of the net proceeds from the Lip Kits will go directly to Smile Train. And considering how pretty the just-a-hair-paler-than-bubblegum-pink shade is (it's almost reminiscent of the ever-popular Tumblr pink, no?), we're guessing plenty of fans will be clamoring to step up and do their part for the cause.
The new Lip Kit shade will launch on Monday, October 3 at 11 a.m. PST, so set your alarm reminder now.
UPDATE, Oct. 27: Kylie Cosmetics donated $150,000 to Smile Train as the result of sales from the company's limited-edition lip color, the organization announced on Wednesday. That donation will enable 638 children with cleft palates to get corrective surgery. Well done, Kylie.
