Sarah Jessica Parker, an actress who famously played a character who was once dumped via Post-it, is now expanding her design talents from accessories to apparel. Three years after partnering with Manolo Blahnik's George Malkemus to launch a range of footwear and handbags, Parker announced on Instagram on Tuesday that she has a new line of dresses in works, too.
Called SJP LBD, Parker's latest project was entirely designed by her, is all made in the U.S. and will be carried exclusively at Bloomingdale's starting this October "with more designs to follow soon thereafter." Further details are scarce, but Parker did showcase one of her designs — long-sleeved and shin-length, with a deep, scoop-neck back — by twirling around in a revolving door.
Parker has been working to flesh out her eponymous fashion and beauty portfolio for some time now, including a line of fragrances that began with 2005's Lovely, 2007's Covet and, most recently, Stash, a smoky, musky scent that launched this August reportedly took 10 years to perfect.
We've reached out to Bloomingdale's, and will update this post should we learn more.
Update, Sept. 29: According to a press release, SJP LBD is confirmed to launch this October in 32 Bloomingdale's locations and online at Bloomingdales.com. The collection will premiere with one dress, named "Title," a sleeveless frock that falls above the knee and features a jersey top and layered tulle skirt. "Title" will retail for $395 and be available in sizes 0-12. SJP LBD will expand with more dress styles for spring 2017.
