Like most of the fashion world, we love Cate Blanchett. Also like most of the fashion world, we love Gucci — specifically with Alessandro Michele at the helm. So when these two forces of nature came together, it was nothing short of fashion magic. See what we mean, above, where the actress/demi-goddess wore the designer at the IWC Gala Dinner in honor of the British Film Institute.
The dress is simple, but not the least bit boring; it features a pretty, ivory bodice with exaggerated, sculptural shoulders and deep V-neckline, a long black skirt and, tying it all together, a crimson sash that was a near exact match to the red carpet below. However, this dress isn't just any dress plucked from a sea of red carpet offerings. This is a fresh-off-the-runway dress from Gucci's most recent show, which took place literally two weeks ago.
