I was never really cool enough to rock Dr. Martens in high school (slash am barely cool enough to wear them now as a 20-something) — but since indulging my whim a few years ago by picking up an all-black pair of their 1461s, I've been looking to add another pair to my collection. And while their iconic yellow soles are without a doubt a brand signature, I can't stop gravitating towards their all-black styles, and this velvet lace-up boot is my latest obsession.
The Page boots retain the same edge of the classic, smooth-leather, chunky-soled boots, but are done up in luxe velvet, which, if you hadn't heard, is hard-core #trending for fall. (And I'm not the only Fashionista editor dreaming of velvet boots, either.) Even better: the style is currently on sale at the Dr. Martens' e-commerce site, but only in limited — and very tiny (aka me) — shoe sizes. (Apologies to everyone above a size 5.) I'm already thinking about switching out the black cord laces for pretty ribbon ones to dress them up a bit, and wearing them through what is sure to be another chilly season here in the city. And speaking of New York, I'm can't help but think of how well these will match with my primarily all-black wardrobe...
