Elle's Women in Hollywood Awards took place Monday night and, as to be expected, lots of women from Hollywood were in attendance. The event was filled with plenty of fall beauty and style inspiration — as well as ample Girl Power vibes. Velvets and brocades had a major moment, as did deep berry lips (how good are Lucy Hale's, above?). But for me, the true standout beauty look was Hale's hair: a simple, center-parted updo created by hairstylist Kristin Ess. Or so it appeared from the front. In back, there was a twisty, gold wire-wrapped thing happening, and it was awesome. Take a peek:
The look was reminiscent of the wire-adorned updos Guido Palau created for the spring 2016 Alberta Ferretti runway, as seen below.
So artful and cool, right?
Let's move on to the rest of the noteworthy looks from the evening, wherein you'll find style inspiration for the remainder of autumn, and possibly even a couple of holiday-worthy ensembles to get you in the party spirit. (I know it's not even Halloween yet, but deal with it!!!)
