As a bonus, it smells delicious. And it's cheap!

Last weekend, my husband and I decided to spend an entire day on our living-room couch watching television, and at some point in the early afternoon — probably when a particularly #dark episode of "Black Mirror" got a little too real — he turned his attention to my face instead of the screen. "You look extra pretty," he adorably commented, "I think those masks you've been doing are working!"

The mask he is referring to is the exfoliating and refining pure-clay option from L'Oréal, which I've been slathering on two to three times per week since I got my hands on it right after fashion month. My skin tends to get super-dry as soon as temperatures start dropping, and a few similar products I've tried before have left me feeling parched; but this red algae-laced formula exfoliates and cleanses without sucking out that crucial excess moisture. I leave the lightweight, deliciously scented mask on for about 10 minutes (I warn my husband first, because the red color can be a little unsettling to unsuspecting company) and voilà! Immediately after removing it, I can tell my skin is dewier and generally looks brighter — the glow was especially noticeable after I returned from Paris, when I was running on very little sleep.

While I plan on doing a bit more this weekend than just Netflix and Chill, you can bet that applying this mask once or twice is included in my off-duty schedule.
