"Saturday Night Live" returned to television for its 42nd season this weekend, just in time for the last stretch of election madness, and Margot Robbie had the honor of hosting the premiere (with musical guest and newly shorn The Weeknd). The Australian actress has had quite a busy year promoting "Tarzan" and "Suicide Squad," during which she has always managed to land on our best dressed lists. Thanks to stylist Kate Young's expert eye and Robbie's willingness to take red carpet risks, the young star always looks sexy and cool without trying too hard on the red carpet.
The same can be said about her "SNL" monologue look — one of the few times throughout the show that she was not in costume. To kick off the episode (after the presidential debate spoof cold open, that is — duh), Robbie showed up in one of Alexander Wang's cannabis-inspired fall 2016 floral lace dresses, featuring lace marijuana leaves embroidered into the front of the faux-leather skirt.
While the skirt could have fit her better, we're giving Robbie a pass because the dress is so darn delightful. And it takes some guts to wear weed on network television, even if it is 11:30 p.m. at night.
A similar version of the look — made family-friendly without the cannabis cutouts — is available to shop now for a cool $1,995.
