Zayn Malik takes his Giuseppe for Zayn boots out for a spin
For the first time since announcing his forthcoming collection with Giuseppe Zanotti, Malik was spotted at LAX wearing a pair of front-zip black boots from the collection, which feature a simple back tab as well as a pretty noticeable patch with his name on the side. You won't be able to find them in stores until January of next year, but in the meantime, who better to generate Giuseppe for Zayn-buzz than Zayn, himself? {Fashionista inbox}

Shoes of Prey to close David Jones and Nordstrom design studios
The online retailer is shuttering its physical design studios after a possibly premature attempt to go omnichannel. One was located in Sydney-based luxury department store David Jones, while six stateside outposts lived inside various Nordstrom locations. "The physical stores have been hugely important for us," said Shoes of Prey co-founder Jodie Fox to AFR. But the most profitable and biggest opportunity for Shoes of Prey right now is in pure play online." {The Australian Financial Review}

Longtime red carpet reporter Jeffrey Slonim passed away
Red carpet reporter Jeffrey Slonim, who penned a column on Allure's back page for nearly 25 years and also reported for The New York Post, Town & Country and Gotham, among other publications, died on Oct. 13 at the age of 56. The cause of death was reportedly suicide. "He went out and he did the most exhausting job known to mankind — he went and stood at red carpets and events and asked these bold and disarming questions that really elicited human responses. He had a way of cutting through the formality of those cases and getting something that we could all identify with," said former Allure editor-in-chief Linda Wells, remembering Slonim in Women's Wear Daily. {Women's Wear Daily}
