Tove Lo just took the red carpet-worthy "naked dress" to a whole new level. On Tuesday night, the Swedish singer attended at the 2016 Aria Music Awards in Australia, and for her special appearance, Lo wore a sheer dress that was embellished with a uterus. In an interview with Be, Lo stated that the dress was custom-made by the designer Emelie Janrell, and her stylist, Crap Diem, completed the look with platform boots by Hannah Jinkins.
Lo is known for pushing sex positivity into her work in hopes of shattering the taboo that comes with being openly comfortable with one's lady bits. "I feel like I grew up in a place where nudity and sex is something natural and not shameful," the singer said in a recent interview with The Guardian. Some of Lo's most recent creative efforts include her new album titled "Lady Wood," which means, well, you get it, along with plans to get a vagina tattoo and the recent release of "Fairy Dust," a short film to coincide with "Lady Wood" that was (temporarily) banned on YouTube for supposed sexually explicit content.
If wearing a straight-up uterus on your person helps to further the conversation surrounding the female body, then so be it. Keep fighting the good fight, Tove.
