Alexander Wang Takes on the Walk of Shame in His Spring 2017 Ad Campaign

It looks like the Wang Squad had a little too much fun last night.

News flash! Alexander Wang likes to party. Let's list some basic evidence of this, shall we? His spring 2017 after-party was a mini-music festival he dubbed #Wangfest; his fall 2016 campaign centered around his squad (Zoë Kravitz, Skrillex, Kylie Jenner, et al.) throwing a rager inside a Beverly Hills mansion; the #Wang10 anniversary event he held to celebrate being in business for a decade was complete with stripper poles, a branded ice luge and rolling papers as a parting gift; and his spring 2015 campaign was set inside a literal party bus. This only scratches the surface, as his brand is one of the most creative in the industry when it comes to themes and locations for these functions: There was the frat party on a New York pier, the Courtney Love concert in a gas station, the full-on carnival on the West Side Highway and the rave inside the South Street Seaport mall. It's a miracle that Wang is somehow immune to hangovers.

For his spring 2017 campaign, shot in New York by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Wang decided to depict the aftermath of these long, wild nights of partying, capturing his favorite models (and real-life best friends) Anna Ewers, Binx Walton and Lexi Boling doing the dreaded "walk of shame." Although, in this case, it looks sort of chic. The time stamps on the photos indicate that it's just after 7:00 a.m., and the bad girl model crew could be stumbling home from the club, a house party, late-night karaoke or another sketchy situation that kept them out past dawn. At least they're dressed in head-to-toe Wang, and while passersby on the street might assume Ewers is wearing a bathrobe — stolen from last night's hookup, perhaps? — little do they know that it's a very warm (and very expensive) mink coat. We hope the squad got home safely, and that they remember at least the highlights of the previous evening's adventures.
