Alix is a small but fast growing women’s contemporary brand based in NYC. We are seeking a Production Manager to oversee domestic production. This person will be responsible for directing the internal process to increase efficiencies and continuously improving the production strategy, process, and management of priorities. 


  • Serve as primary contact for factories, suppliers and service providers 
  • Management of pre-production, and production calendars and approval process
  • Production placement and reservations - (based on information from planning and merchandising) 
  • Approving T.O.P’s per style/factory 
  • Creating and updating costing documents 
  • Production tracking and reporting 
  • Trouble-shoot production/delivery problems 
  • Evaluate and monitor the performance of the supplier base 

Vendor Tracking 

  • Responsible for ordering production fabric & trims 
  • Communication with mills and vendors on shipping and fabric orders/deliveries
  • Fabric and trim OH tracking 

Vendor negotiation

  • Work with design team and coordinate on time packaging development and production with agents, suppliers and service providers. 

Quality Assurance 

  • Final check and approval of fabrics before going into production 
  • Manage in-house quality assurance activities to ensure all products meet brand’s quality standards. 
  • Work with Sales and Logistics to Trouble-shoot escalated issues and coordinate QA / inventory inspections at the factory 

Skills & Qualifications 

  • Organized & strategic; are able to prioritize and manage multiple projects with aggressive timelines 
  • Initiative/sense of urgency ; demonstrated problem solving
  • Ability to thrive within in a team environment 
  • Strong project management skills: Ability to work across multiple internal and external partners 
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing and growing environment 
  • Fluency with Microsoft Excel  
  • Bachelors Degree Required 
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in production, sourcing, and product development
