Those who know me well can attest that I am very disciplined when it comes to working out. In fact, if I go longer than 10 days without exercising, I become such a grouch that even I don't want to be around me. However, once winter rolls around and I'm forced to walk to and from the gym in the frigid cold (one way completely drenched in sweat, no less), it's easy to lose motivation and opt for quality couch time swaddled in a giant blanket instead. But as the saying goes, summer bodies are made in the winter, so I persevere — piling on layers of sweats, socks and jackets in an attempt to stay fit while avoiding frostbite.
Recently, I discovered a pair of toasty (but not bulky!) leggings that make my trek to the gym much less painful. These Athleta bottoms are lined with thermally insulated "Polartec" fabric, which is as soft as it is warm. They feel like fleece when you pull them on, but are slim and sleek enough for those days when you're simply going for a casual athleisure look. The side pockets are handy for when you forget a pair of gloves, and thanks to their moisture wicking technology, you won't turn into a sweaty icicle on your way home from hot yoga or an indoor cycling class. So if you're constantly looking for an excuse to skip your workout once the temperatures dip into the single digits, you can rely on these to hold you accountable.
