There's no doubt that Bella Hadid cemented her status as a supermodel this year. Between her several international Vogue covers, her contract with Dior beauty, her runway appearances at Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy and Fendi and her much-hyped debut at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, the 20-year-old with over 8.6 million Instagram followers is officially one of the most sought-after faces in the industry. So it's only natural that Hadid has reached one of the ultimate rites of passage for someone in her position: designing a capsule collection in collaboration with an established brand.
On Wednesday, Hadid took to social media to announce that she's created a line for Chrome Hearts, the Los Angeles-based label of rocker-chic accessories and apparel that was founded by Richard and Laurie Lynn Stark in the 1980s. (It just so happens that their daughter, musician Jesse Jo Stark, has been Hadid's best friend since childhood.) "So damn excited! You have no idea what's coming," Hadid wrote on Instagram, wearing a Gothic-printed tee, presumably of her own design. "My new collection with Chrome Hearts, designed by me, shot by my angel mother Laurie Lynn Stark. I CAN'T wait for you all to see what we've made!"
There's still very little info regarding a launch date and what the full range will include — we've reached out to Chrome Hearts for more info — but we have a feeling the pieces will be as badass and streetwear-inspired as Hadid's off-duty style. We're also willing to bet that this is just the first of many collaborations that Hadid has ahead of her in the year(s) ahead.
