I love to be cozy. Really controversial hot take, I know. But especially this time of year, a freezing-cold bedroom is my favorite because it means I get to bury myself under thick comforters, plush blankets and layers-upon-layers of flannel. Sexy, am I right? This J.Crew shirtdress — which my sister gave me as an early Hanukkah present (thanks, Hayley!) — is the best. It's both lightweight and warm, and it pairs especially well with slipper socks, but because there are no pants involved (I think we can all agree that pantslessness is key to comfort), you won't overheat in it.
And it also makes me feel a little like Clarence. You know, It's a Wonderful Life Clarence? Who wears delightfully old-timey undergarments that make George Bailey think he's a major weirdo? (I do, in fact, realize that an elderly man's 19th-century nightshirt isn't in keeping with the style aspirations of most 26-year-old women, but I will make no apologies for the fact that it's in keeping with mine.)
Unfortunately, right now the nightshirt is sold out in every size except XL, but it's such a classic that I'm sure a re-stock is forthcoming. (It's also worth nothing that you may want to go a size up with this; roominess ups the cozy factor and my nightshirt shrunk a little upon first wash.) Or you could also go for this (possibly chicer?) navy striped one, which is still in stock in a variety of sizes and, I'm guessing, is plenty cozy.
