Just when we thought Michelle Obama had already set the First Lady-dressing bar as high* as it's ever been, she managed to knock us all dead by wearing custom Gucci — again, custom Gucci — to the Kennedy Center Honors, which took place last night in our nation's capital.

For the annual star-studded event, our First Lady wore an Alessandro Michele-designed green and camellia floral silk crepe long sleeve gown with pearl and crystal embroidered brooch detailing along the waist. The result was opulent without being ostentatious, and seasonally appropriate without being cheesy. Her makeup was kept polished and fresh, while a new sleek, blunt bob only added to her fashion-forward aesthetic. She proved yet again that, as far as First Ladies go — and not just sartorially speaking — she'll be a very tough act to follow.

I'm not crying, you're crying.
