We didn't think Reformation would be able to get any more #onbrand than its recent collaboration with Patagonia, but there's no shame in being wrong: As announced on Monday, the Los Angeles-based cool-girl brand has just teamed up with Haim (!) on a new collection pegged to New Year's Eve.
We know Reformation loves a groovy nightdress, so to kiss 2016 goodbye, the retailer tapped Este, Danielle and Alana Haim to co-design a special 10-piece capsule for the holiday. Each item is a riff off Reformation's most tried-and-true silhouettes — including halter jumpsuits, asymmetric necklines, patent leather jackets and plenty of sparkle — and was born out of a moodboard full of images of Cher, Bianca Jagger and Diana Ross. It's (almost) enough to convince all the anti-NYE party people out there (present company included) to snag up a dress and figure out the night's plans later. And how very Reformation is that?
In a release, the Haim sisters said:
"We're longtime fans of Ref and it's awesome to celebrate their mission of sustainability and work together with like-minded women. As far as the collection, NYE is the holiday that's always over-hyped, but Ref clothes make you want to get dressed and go out — so it was fun creating our own version of that."
But the real question I'd like to ask here is: How did it take this long for Reformation and Haim to work together in this capacity? The two entities certainly overlap in aesthetic, which is to say, both favor playful, tomboyish and heavily '70s-inspired styles. So we expect for this partnership to be the first of several.
Reformation's NYE Collection launches Monday, Dec. 5 in-stores and online at TheReformation.com. You can check out the full lookbook in the gallery below.
