As both a beauty editor and an unapologetic lip balm addict — I like to have my lips smeared with something moisturizing roughly 100 percent of the time. While there are plenty of ones I like, it's rare to find a new balm that I love (shout-out to my forever BFFs Tatcha Gold Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm, Frank Body Lip Balm and Hourglass No. 28 Lip Treatment Oil). But I've recently found my Prada backpack* of lip care: Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter.
Brazilian brand Sol de Janeiro, which is relatively new to Sephora, once only sold this super-rich, vanilla flavored balm as part of a set, but gave in to fans who begged for it to be sold separately last month. The formula combines tropical ingredients, like ultra-hydrating cupuaçu butter and coconut oil, along with antioxidant-rich açai for a luxurious and effective treatment that softens even the most winter-ravaged chapped lips. I love that it's not waxy or heavy — and that it makes me feel like Gisele every time I swipe it on (I'm just assuming this is the Official Lip Balm of all Brazilians. What? That's not how anything works, you say?) And I'm a complete sucker for the sugary vanilla scent, because I'm a not-so-secret basic bitch.
*This is obviously a 10 Things I Hate About You reference, and if you didn't get it, I'm so sorry, but we'll likely never be close friends.
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter, $18, available at Sephora.
