As someone who generally prefers understated and timeless over trendy and street-style friendly, it's not always easy to find clothes and accessories that are stylish and good-quality but priced somewhat accessibly. What if I want something nicer than Uniqlo but more affordable than The Row? My list of go-to retailers (Everlane, A.P.C., Steven Alan and Need Supply) just got a little bit longer.
Ann Mashburn is the wife and business partner of Sid Mashburn, and together they own a small chain of namesake stores in cities like Atlanta (where they're based), Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Houston and Dallas, in addition to e-commerce. The men's line is more well-known, but it's time to stop sleeping on the women's line, designed by Ann. It's filled with cool, quietly feminine, unfussy, versatile wardrobe staples at a contemporary price point.
Case in point: this super-chic camel hair dress. I feel like it would pretty much instantly turn me into a grown-up, and I'm certain it would become one of those no-brainer pieces I could throw on when I need to look put together for a meeting, dinner or fancy event. I could even layer it over a turtleneck for winter. And this is only one of many items I'm lusting over by this brand. R.I.P. my bank account. Check it out here.
