While we've done little more than nurse our champagne hangovers and recommit to our resolutions, Bella Hadid has already started 2017 off strong. The model posted a shot from her first campaign of the year with Italian powerhouse Fendi.
It's hardly surprising, considering Hadid opened the label's spring 2017 runway show in Milan, but that doesn't change the fact that it puts one more blue chip campaign under her belt. Shot by (who else?) Karl Lagerfeld, the look is slightly toned down from the runway, where the raver-kid '90s hair was paired with glittery lips. Instead, the muted color palette and fading wallpaper gives the collection a more romantic feel; Hadid looks like a doll in a dollhouse.
Sister Gigi reportedly also stars in the campaign with a focus on the eyewear. We have reached out to Fendi for further information so watch this space.
UPDATE: Fendi has confirmed that both Bella and Gigi Hadid star in the brand's Spring 2017 campaign, alongside up-and-coming model Vittoria Ceretti. The brand has also unveiled another image of Hadid in the already-ubiquitous cropped knit sweater and a brocade skirt with a super-embellished version of Fendi's new "Kan I" bag.
"For the Fendi Spring/Summer 2017 advertising campaign, I have chosen the models of the moment, shot in different rooms," Lagerfeld says in a release. "For the set I took inspiration from the mood of the clothes and at the same time the places people had left, the rooms filled in the past by their voices, while the future is represented by the presence of the girls."
