The Production and Development Manager will plan, manage and coordinate all aspects of product development and production to maintain uniqueness in the designs and ensure that goods are produced efficiently in accordance with the level of quality expected from Mignonne Gavigan. The Production and Development Manager will be joining a small team and will report jointly to the Founder/Creative Director, Mignonne Gavigan and CEO, Layne Jacobs.


  • Create, maintain, and monitor seasonal development and production calendar, ensuring that the production is timely and cost effective
  • Source, purchase and issue all raw material POs for sampling, initial orders, and reorders
  • Manage all factory and raw material vendor relationships, including hardware
  • Manage raw material pricing, lead-times, minimums and inventory to ensure the most competitive pricing, timely deliveries and margin goals are met
  • Monitor and ensure timely deliveries of all needed raw materials and finished goods
  • Negotiate all pricing for labor and raw materials
  • Source, evaluate and manage all activity and scheduling of deliverables
  • Create and maintain cost sheets for all products that meet margin and retail price goals ensuring the cost of goods sold for each style
  • Oversee and maintain quality control by monitoring product standards and implementing quality control programs; ensuring product is being made to Mignonne Gavigan standards
  • Create and maintain development line sheet for sample development and shot list for product shoots
  • Review and approve all invoices to ensure accuracy
  • Analyze historical data to establish merchandise line plan at the beginning of each season including strategic direction on silhouettes, fabrics, color and price point supported by historical data.
  • Ensure the merchandise assortment is balanced and focused correctly to meet customer needs and revenue goals
  • Evaluate and issue in-season reorders for inventory management and communicate with factories and vendors to ensure timely delivery
  • Communicate production timeline to Sales team in order to advise wholesale accounts and e-comm availability
  • Strategize with cross functional teams and implement seasonal markdown strategy
  • Establish product shot count and ensure all needs are met for product shoots and launches
  • Brainstorm, conceptualize and develop new product opportunities for growth
  • Research new sourcing opportunities - production, raw materials, manufacturing partners
  • Project payables and timing for finance so they can create appropriate cash flow projections
  • Track and manage seasonal budget for development and production
  • Work with design team to create solutions for new designs

  • At least 4-5 years of proven experience in product development and production
  • Very strong planning and organization skills, acute attention to detail
  • Very comfortable in an ever-Changing, entrepreneurial environment
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel) and RLM or other inventory management software
