If you've found yourself obsessing over finding the perfect one-piece swimsuit lately, you're definitely not the only one. According to social commerce platform Polyvore and online shopping search engines Lyst and Shopstyle, searches for one pieces have jumped exponentially within the last year. And with resort season in full swing, that shows no sign of slowing.

Polyvore's inquiries — specifically, "high-leg one-piece swimsuit" — have increased by 99 percent since last year, while Lyst has seen interest in the swimsuit style increase by 436 percent over the last year, jumping from fifth- to second-most popular after the bikini. Though the two-piece set is still a first choice for shoppers, the difference in market share is 9 percent and Lyst has seen a sharp drop in interest from brands that usually thrive on bikini sales. At Shopstyle, one-pieces are up 699 percent year-over-year while bikini searches are down by 2 percent.

We're naming one-piece-wearing Instamodels like Emily RatajkowskiKendall Jenner and the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan — as well as the Elle.com-coined "thighbrow" — for leading the style's resurgence. As images from tropical getaways make the rounds on Instagram, along with the occasional Boomerang thirst trap (we see you, Bella Hadid), not only are we struck with wanderlust for palm trees and salt water, but we're also dying to ditch our bikinis for more coverage. (Polyvore also noticed searches for the conservative "swim dress" have increased by 23 percent.) And with the "Baywatch" reboot in the works, we expect a slew of beach bums channeling Pamela Anderson in her signature one-piece. Kylie Jenner already jumped on the pop culture reference during her birthday vacation last summer.

Brands that have perfected their own one-piece designs are greatly benefiting from this resurgence as well. A spokesperson from Lyst pointed out that when Taylor Swift shared photos from her 2016 Fourth of July celebration on Instagram, searches for the brand Solid & Striped, worn by Swift and her gal pals Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne, spiked 365 percent within 24 hours, totaling more than 43,000 views and resulting in more than a 128-percent spike in sales. After all, the images from Swift's party could have easily passed as an ad for the swim label. Meanwhile, Shopstyle called out this particular Nasty Gal one-piece as a clear favorite among its users.
