Last September, Abercrombie & Fitch's design rebranding efforts kicked off with Kristina Szasz's debut collection for the mass brand, which had us reaching for our wallets. Looking at the brand's spring 2017 lookbook, it's clear we should be expecting more of that chic new look from A&F going forward.

Photographed by Ben Weller and styled by Caroline Newell, the spring womenswear collection is a continuation of fall 2016's return to elevated basics. It features a spring palette of whites, powder blues, indigo, pale pink and green, with a wide range of textiles that include linen, suede, lace and cotton. The brand's spring 2017 collection also interprets various military silhouettes, most notably in the outerwear category — think bombers and safari jackets with pockets aplenty— but not without doing away with the classic athletic and preppy ethos that made Abercrombie & Fitch a global name. Denim, a longtime Abercrombie staple, also figures prominently for spring 2017, but rest assured that these aren't the ultra-distressed micro-mini skirts of A&F past: Shorts are cut with a longer hem, raw edges and rivet detailing, overalls and jackets look lived-in and effortless and fashion-forward cropped flare styles come in a variety of washes. We want it all.
