During the warmer months, my skin usually feels like a small-scale oil spill, but in the winter, it's a totally different story. Once blustery temps come around — a.k.a. this past New York Fashion Week — my face feels constantly parched and chapped. Not a good look. And then for whatever reason, this can also make my skin severely break out; great timing, right?
I always swap out my summer skin-care routine for a range of more hydrating products come winter, and Aesop's Lucent Facial Concentrate (which the brand sent my way to review) has been the crown jewel of my cold-weather regimen for a few weeks now. The moisturizing-yet-supremely-lightweight formula is infused with rose petal and niacinamide (a form of vitamin B3) to brighten and soothe skin. The texture is a bit more viscous than the serums I usually reach for, which allows it to absorb quickly and leaves my face feeling balanced and ready for moisturizer. (If my skin is feeling extra-dry, I'll also mix two or three drops of face oil into a pump of the serum before patting it over my face.) And while the price tag may raise some eyebrows, I firmly believe that taking care of your skin is an investment, and I can say with confidence that this serum has definitely secured its spot on my all-time favorite skin-care products list.
