Christie Brinkley Makes Her 'Sports Illustrated: Swim' Return a Family Affair

Daughters Sailor Brinkley Cook and Alexa Ray Joel join the shoot because some people just have really great gene pools.

Once a staple of the Sports Illustrated: Swim issue, supermodel Christie Brinkley retired from the world of tiny bikinis and exotic locales in 2004. But when the annual special edition magazine pitched a special idea — Brinkley would shoot with her daughters Alexa Ray Joel and Sailor Brinkley Cook — she decided that 2017 was as good a time as any to come out of retirement.

While we can't say we fully get the idea of a mother-daughter swim shoot, there's no denying each of these women looks incredible. Joel and Cook are supporting their mom — quite literally — in the group shot, which features the trio in black swimsuits. The issue marks a Sports Illustrated debut for both daughters, who each posted heartfelt messages about appearing in the magazine that was a hallmark of their mom's career.

Brinkley, by the way, is 63. What were you saying about women and aging again?
