On Thursday, New York Fashion Week's first official day was welcomed with a (very) generous snowfall and wind chill — a tricky contrast to the high of 60 degrees from the day before. But that didn't put a damper on anyone's street style potential. Instead, the fashion flock layered on their warmest, most stylish pieces, and the results were far from frumpy. Among showgoers, the most popular outerwear choice seemed to be the shearling jacket in a number of cool variations, like khaki, ruffled details, all-black or bright pink. The choice is versatile and cozy, which means we'll likely see a lot more of it throughout the rest of the week.
Oh, and it snowed. A lot!
