We're only three days into New York Fashion Week, and already we've seen several designers making a statement against Donald Trump and his administration. One designer, however, seems perfectly untroubled by the current state of things: Taoray Wang, who sat Tiffany Trump and her mother Marla Maples front row at her fall 2017 fashion show Saturday, making for the week's first Trump sighting.
Trump wore the Shanghainese designer to her father's inauguration, choosing, somewhat ironically, a white double-breasted jacket for the occasion. Wang, who told WWD that she is not political, gifted Trump the coat, which can cost anywhere from $2,500 to $3,700 at retail. Trump has also previously worn Wang to a debate and on election night.
Wang's fall 2017 collection reportedly centered around pantsuits, which were, as one might recall, a Hillary Clinton staple.
