It's rare that a tweed suit can be described edgy, cool or even remotely interesting. (No offense, Karl.) But leave it to Cara Delevingne to choose a punk-y, patent leather-trimmed take on the style and change all that. At a trailer viewing of her upcoming film "Valerian and The City of a Thousand Planets" in Los Angeles on Monday, the model-turned-actress wore a look from Alexandre Vauthier's Spring 2017 Couture collection.
With chunky zippers, an asymmetrical hemline and exaggerated shoulders (not to mention, the already noted patent leather), there's a lot going on with the look, which was styled by Delevingne's go-to duo, Mariel Haenn and Rob Zangardi. So, Delevingne kept the rest of her ensemble simple, forgoing flashy accessories and jewelry and wearing only one ring with a chunky black stone.
Delevingne's beauty look was similarly subdued. Makeup artist Molly R. Stern created a subtle smoky eye and refrained from adding color to her cheeks or lips. She again showed off her relatively new blunt bob and (ever-so-slightly-grown-out) platinum color with a sleek, center-parted look by hairstylist Mara Roszak.
At one point during the evening, Delevingne seems to have accessorized the look with a single rose — perhaps she saw "Beauty and the Beast" over the weekend? We'll allow it.
