You may have read on the internet that millennials — and the brands that cater to them — are unabashedly obsessed with a certain shade of rosy pink that we here at Fashionista like to call "Tumblr Pink." It's everywhere, from marketing materials (think: Glossier, Mansur Gavriel, Acne Studios, Miu Miu) to magazine covers and the runways; and because spring is imminent, you'll likely begin to see the hue trickling onto mass market shelves very soon. Another thing that's very popular in fashion right now? Retro activewear — in particular, brands like Champion, which has enjoyed something of a renaissance thanks to Instagram endorsements from cool kids like the Jenners and the Hadids, as well as buzzy collaborations with Vetements and Urban Outfitters. The former brand sits far out of my price range, so for the purposes of this "Editors' Pick," I will focus on the latter.
While going through fashion month street style galleries over the past few weeks, it became clear that the high-end hoodie is a must-have, but whereas showgoers opted en masse for the Vetements versions, I found a more accessible style that I will likely scoop up. It's a rose hoodie with a classic Champion logo embroidered at the chest that was created exclusively for Urban Outfitters, and though it's technically found in the men's section, the slouchy, oversize look is what I'm going for anyway.
I jump at any opportunity I can to wear a snuggly, warm hoodie in public and/or to the office, and this super-cool shade helps to make the piece more "fashion," less "schlubby dad." Yes, I know that this sweatshirt is basically the combination of every played-out trend in fashion right now, but you know what? I'm OK with that. I may be a sartorial sheep, but at least I'll be cozy. (And you have to admit, this is cute.)
Champion Reverse Weave Hoodie, $64, available for preorder at Urban Outfitters.
