Are models-turned-photographers the next models-turned-actresses?

Gigi Hadid's roster of professional duties is getting pretty extensive. She's already a creative partner to Tommy Hilfiger; a 19-time Vogue cover star; a Barbie doll; a boxer; an almost-Victoria's Secret Angel; a Maybelline face; and, among other obligations, a friend to Taylor Swift. Now just tack on "photographer," because a) why not? and b) that's something that's happening this spring with a little help from V Magazine.

Hadid will be serving as a "magazine staffer" and "official photographer" for the publication's Summer Issue, due out May 1, a spokesperson for V confirmed to Fashionista on Tuesday. While the exact contents of Hadid's shoot aren't yet known, Page Six reports the editorial will provide "an intimate look at her private world," with subjects that include Maria Testino, Sasha Lane, Olivier Rousteing — whom she reportedly shot at the Hotel George V penthouse in Paris on Sunday — as well as Hilfiger, Karl Lagerfeld, Donatella Versace and, of course, sister Bella Hadid.

Hadid is really rolling with this photography thing, as she shot boyfriend Zayn Malik for Versus Versace's Spring 2017 campaign, released just last week. Perhaps this is now the next logical step for Instagirls and Instaboys; is model-turned-photographer the new model-turned actress? Kendall Jenner — who, I feel like noting, has popularized the whole "[subject] by me" Instagram caption format — did just shoot a 72-page editorial for the latest issue of Love, with cover stars ranging from Kaia Gerber to Hari Nef to Sienna Miller. Noted celebrity offspring Brooklyn Beckham also scored a professional photography gig for Burberry last year to which many cried nepotism; we, for the most part, agreed. Stunt hires don't won't be going anywhere anytime soon — it's just that photography seems to be their next trending iteration.

You can see Hadid's full V shoot when it hits newsstands May 1.
