Welcome to our column, "Hey, Quick Question," where we investigate seemingly random happenings in the fashion and beauty industries. Enjoy!

When Kylie Jenner launched her liner-and-liquid-lipstick duos back in the fall of 2015 (where did the time go?), she brought about somewhat of a revolution in the cosmetics industry. Just a few short years later, she's redefined what it means to be a celebrity beauty entrepreneur, and her influence can be argued to have fueled a new product category: lip kits. In the years since Jenner's version debuted, brands like Colourpop (with whom Jenner shares a parent company, Seed Beauty) and Pat McGrath Labs have created their own iterations of pencil-and-lipstick sets. The latest beauty brand to get in on the game? MAC Cosmetics.

MAC's Lip Duos, which the company announced on Monday, will pair its award-winning lipstick with a matching lip pencil for a foolproof way to get long-lasting color. Notably, these sets include standard lipstick bullets, which is a defining difference when compared to Jenner's liquid formulas. They will be available in five of the brand's best-selling shades of deep burgundies and purples (fingers crossed that true reds or neutral shades will follow soon!). The Lip Duos will retail for $29, knocking $5.50 off the full retail price you'd pay for purchasing each product individually, and will be available at North America MAC boutiques and online beginning on March 23. See each pairing in the gallery below. Get ready to eat your heart out, Kylie...
