What a weekend! The past three days of Paris Fashion Week were filled with a slew of highly anticipated runway collections that did not disappoint, including Valentino, Balenciaga, Vivienne Westwood and Comme des Garçons. The same goes for street style, as the fashion crowd pulled off their best outfits so far. It seems like everyone is still playing with color as showgoers wore a pop of silver in nearly every form, like wide-leg trousers, knee-high boots, coats, skirts and a frilly dress. The metallic accent adds a lively touch to the most simple outfit and also plays like a neutral against more standout pieces.
In addition to silver, more specific street style "It" items that were spotted over the weekend included a Loewe obi belt in brown and a Balenciaga denim jacket with exaggerated shoulders. (Not-so-coincidentally, both brands debuted their Fall 2017 collections on Friday and Sunday, respectively.) While showgoers in the denim jacket kept their entire outfits on the casual side, those wearing the Jonathan Anderson-designed belt paired it with dresses and skirts.
It was a rainy weekend in the French capital as well, and the street style set's go-to raincoat had a common requirement: black and glossy PVC. The shiny material was a favorite during New York Fashion Week, too.
With Paris Fashion Week nearing a close on Tuesday with major runway shows from Chanel, Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton, we have a feeling the fashion crowd is going to wrap up Fashion Month with a sartorial bang.
