In keeping with my "if I fantasize enough about spring/summer apparel, spring/summer will show up in earnest" sentiment from last week, I am once again dreaming of fashion not suited to the actual weather outside. Currently in the dream checkout cart: these flatforms from Stella McCartney. I've been searching for a good pair of chunky sandals ever since the floral flatforms I got from the Urban Outfitters outlet in college broke on the first wear (just one of a million reasons I began avoiding fast fashion shortly thereafter), and these hit all the right notes.
Besides being way more ethically and sustainably made than that sad Urban Outfitters pair, these Stella iterations are a lovely color and would look perfect with socks. Patterned socks! Colorful socks! Lace socks! Wool socks! I like that they're chunky in a manner reminiscent of some of my favorite witchy shoes, but also that the rich brown color keeps them from feeling too emo for spring. (Although they're also available in black, if goth is more your thing.) I want to put these on and have a picnic in the (imaginarily warm, imaginarily green) park nearby, pronto.
Praline buckle sandals, $960, available at Stella McCartney
