For us, the Fall 2017 shows are over and done with, but for retailers, it's officially buying season. Now that they've seen what designers both new and established have lined up for later in the year, it's the buyers' job to predict what their customers will want next season, take stock of their budgets and write in their orders. So once again, we've asked the designer womenswear buyers and directors from top retailers including Net-a-Porter, Ssense, Saks Fifth Avenue and Matchesfashion.com to tell us which looks they had their eye on for fall — and why.
From their responses, it sounds like we'll be seeing a lot of Prada feathers, statement jackets, trench coats and sparkly boots (!) come fall. Read on for more and start your mental shopping lists.
