Pantsuits were one of the biggest trends we saw at New York Fashion Week in February, with designers like Oscar de la Renta to Alexander Wang sending them down the runway. This week, Yara Shahidi showed off her ability to master the look of the moment after a taping of "Larry King Now." The "Blackish" star, outspoken feminist and general embodiment of Black Girl Magic struck a lovely balance between youthful energy and mature poise in a gunmetal silver suit by Camilla and Marc.
The styling of the look — led by Shahidi's longtime red carpet collaborators, Wayman and Micah — was key. The precise tailoring of the suit juxtaposed with the relaxed vibe of the pushed-up sleeves helped give the ensemble simultaneous "I mean business" and "I'm totally chill" vibes. And Shahidi's shoes (brightly colored Charlotte Olympia heels) and floral Etro top added a springy touch to the wintry color of the suit. Topping the whole thing off with simple dangling chain Swarovski earrings and a natural, glowy look by makeup artist Tasha Brown made for the perfect sartorial storm. If only we could have spent our high school years looking half that good.
