Following Thursday's release of TIME's 100 Most Influential People of 2017, the issue's honorees gathered in New York City on Tuesday for the event's annual TIME 100 Gala. With a strong fashion presence this year — both Raf Simons and Alessandro Michele were included, as were Ashley Graham and RuPaul — the red carpet did industry proud. Professional elusive person Michele was a no-show (probably sourcing Renaissance-era wallpaper from a villa in Siena, instead) but the rest of the fashion-adjacent crew more than made up for it.

Simons, whom TIME deemed an "Icon," was there in his Tuesday best which included a checkered, mid-length coat, while Naomi Campbell, Viola Davis and Margot Robbie looked stellar in gowns of varying cuts and colors. The menswear offerings were strong, with honorees Riz Ahmed and John Legend leading the pack. Meanwhile, Graham had a red carpet moment of her own when her Jimmy Choo heel caught the train of her lingerie-inspired dress and she tripped. It happens.
