Contemporary Women's Fashion Brand located in New York, NY is seeking an Associate Designer with 2 to 4 years of Industry Experience. The Candidate will be working side by side with the Design Director/ Owner.
Must have 2 to 4 years Experience as an Assistant/ Associate Designer, preferably at a Contemporary Fashion Brand. Must be knowledgeable in Illustrator, Photoshop & Excel. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about learning all aspects of a small fashion company.

- Ability to understand the Brand Aesthetic and translate it into appropriate product.
- Responsible for managing entire product design process including market research, mood board creation, designing, sketching, spec-ing and fitting in collaboration with Design Director.
- Create techpacks, specs, linesheets and marketing materials using Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Ensure that product is consistent with market trends as well as business strategy; interpret international/domestic concepts and fashion trends as it relates to market demands, company image and business strategy.
- Participate in the fitting of garments for development and production.
- Communicate on a daily basis with multiple overseas factories.
- Track fit samples for development/production.
- Participate in creation of marketing materials for social media and website.
Qualifications:
- The ability to multitask while being highly organized and detail oriented
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design REQUIRED
- Knowledgeable in Illustrator, Photoshop & Excel
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years industry experience.
- Contemporary aesthetic and keen trend awareness
- Knowledgeable in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Ability to create a tech pack, including call-outs and technical direction.
- Ability to set a creative tone and to inspire ideas and concepts; ability to conceptually visualize and build a line.
- Excellent sense of style and color.
- In-depth knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, color ways, sewing techniques, and trim.
