Finding shorts that are both cute and at least marginally professional is a struggle for me every summer. I certainly don't work in a traditional office environment, but I also don't want to look like I'm going to Coachella on a daily basis. Why is finding a pair of shorts that are more than just denim underwear so difficult?
L.A.-based designer Jesse Kamm clearly understands the struggle, and created a pair of short versions of her signature high-waisted pants. They essentially have two length options: cuff them for a shorter (but still not scandalous) length, and uncuff for a more covered-up look. The material is a 100-percent cotton that has a sleeker look than denim. I can't speak personally to how flattering they are, however, as I haven't pulled the trigger yet because they're not exactly cheap. They may be fantastic, USA-made quality, but $276 still feels like a lot to spend on cotton shorts. Though with such a perfect silhouette, they may just be worth it. I just need a little more time to deliberate.
