As many teenagers enrolled in Ivy League universities with big career ambitions do, 18-year-old Malia Obama — who's taking a gap year to chalk up some life experience before starting at Harvard in the fall — landed a good ol' fashioned internship in New York City this spring. However, most teenagers don't have fathers who are America's Honorary Dad Barack Obama, so they don't show up to the office looking achingly hip in head-to-toe Alexander Wang (with an Aritzia leather backpack for good measure).
We came across this image of the elder Obama daughter on Friday afternoon, and the entire Fashionista office squealed with delight. Presumably en route to or from work at the New York offices of The Weinstein Co. (casual!), she proved she's the coolest of the Cool Teens with her T by Alexander Wang military green dress — which retails for $425 — and some low-top, skater-inspired sneakers from the brand. This is a fantastic summer Friday look if we've ever seen one. Maybe if we dressed this well in our intern days, we'd have moved up the career ladder much faster.
And Malia, if you're reading this, we're located at 611 Broadway. Come say hi!
