Boutique beauty, fashion and lifestyle public relations firm seeks extremely organized and detail-oriented Account Assistant to support one of the beauty teams in their New York office. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, calm under pressure, and possesses a strong desire to grow within the public relations industry. Interest in beauty and fashion is a must!

Location: New York, NY

Hours: 9:00am to 6:00pm (Monday – Friday) * Longer hours required based on work load and client events

Duties include (but not limited to):

  • Assisting senior team members with any and all client related duties/tasks
  • Assist in securing media placements for clients
  • Assist with all written communication on behalf of clients (i.e. pitches, press releases)
  • Monthly and weekly client reports including, edit/credit report, weekly/monthly summation, inventories and public relations calendar
  • Arranging and taking notes during conference calls
  • Managing and maintaining client databases
  • Costing out and helping execute client mailings
  • Fielding all press/sample requests for clients
  • Communicating any and all related initiatives with client on a day-to-day basis, as directed
  • Booking client related travel and maintaining scheduling
  • Tracking expenses and supporting publicist on budgets
  • Keeping press kit materials current and updated
  • Carry out any and all pr related initiatives deemed appropriate by mml pr’s President and Vice President

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of relevant experience (preferably in the beauty industry)
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated by experience pitching and writing press releases
  • Resourceful and proactive problem-solver
  • Able to handle multi-faceted projects with strong follow through
  • Able to prioritize accordingly when faced when multiple tasks at once
  • Possess a professional attitude with good phone etiquette
  • Must be proficient in computer applications including, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Cision experience preferred.
